For 2005-2006 a workshop on Prison and Social Transformation has been established with support from the Harpur College Dean [Binghamton University]. The workshop, coordinated by Michael Hames-Garcia, Gladys Jimenez, Kelvin Santiago, Michael West and William Martin, aims to advance discussions and research on social justice, historical transformations of prison systems, and the global carceral system. It features regular presentations by faculty, students, and guest lecturers. Among recent and forthcoming events are:
